Education outside the classroom

School Camp
Every second year the Year 5 & 6 students attend camp for four days and three nights.
The students generally start fundraising for this as early as possible and this helps to keep the costs down for families. A parents meeting is held early to discuss fundraising options.
Camp destinations vary each year with previous camps been held in Dunedin, Queenstown and Te Anau.Once the next camp dates and venue is finalised, parents are informed of where the camp will be held and the cost.
Other Experiences
Â
Throughout the year we offer a variety of other activities for our students.
Â
We lay a wreath each ANZAC day and two senior students are chosen to do this on behalf of the school.
Â
Our Year 4, 5 and 6 students travel to Invercargill to compete in the Mitre 10 Tough Kids event. This is an obstacle course for the students to complete. The course involves, slip and slides, climbing and crawling obstacles and regular slides. It is lots of fun. Â
Â
We have a float in the community Santa Parade each December. Students are chosen to dress up and be part of the float’s theme. Â
