Curriculum
Our Curriculum
East Gore school has a varied curriculum that caters for a wide range of learning needs. Students are exposed to curriculum both locally and globally which is presented in fun and innovative ways.
A typical day at school begins with the core curriculum areas of reading, writing and maths. Afternoons are spent exploring our Maori language, physical education digital curriculum, and inquiry learning which includes Science, Social Sciences, and the Arts.
Extracurricular activities include swimming at the local pool, and inviting a variety of sporting ambassadors in to support the development of different sports eg. rugby, golf and tennis.
We are lucky to have access to Southern Reap GATE courses. We nominate students who have a talent or interest in different courses and they work with tutors to develop these skills.
These courses include Science, Art, Coding, Dance and Drama.
Play is the way relates to the key competency skills that are required by the NZ curriculum. This also is our school-wide behaviour management plan.
